Effect of different levels of supplementary alpha-amylase in finishing broilers Animal Sciences
Castro, Solange de Faria; Bertechini, Antonio Gilberto; Lima, Eduardo Machado Costa; Clemente, Alisson Hélio Sampaio; Ferreira, Verônica Gabriela Gonçalves; Carvalho, Julio Cesar Carrera de.
The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of alpha-amylase supplementation on performance and carcass and cuts yield in broilers during finishing phase (21 to 42 days). A completely randomized experimental design with six treatments and eight replications was used: Positive Control (PC): no enzyme; Negative control (NC): without enzyme formulated with 6.34% less energy (- 6.34% ME); NC1: with 250 g ton-1 of alpha-amylase; NC2: with 500 g ton-1 of alpha-amylase; NC3: with 750 g ton-1 of alpha-amylase; NC4: with 1000 g ton-1 of alpha-amylase. Significant differences in weight gain, feed intake and feed conversion were reported with the inclusion of alpha-amylase. The NC treatment with inclusion of amylase provided improvement values of...

Metabolizable energy values of diets supplemented with xylanase determined with laying hens R. Bras. Zootec.
Souza,Karina Márcia Ribeiro de; Faria,Douglas Emygdio de; Nakagi,Vanessa de Souza; Carão,Ágatha Cristina de Pinho; Pacheco,Bruna Helena Carvalho; Trevisan,Renata Barbieri; Gomes,Gilson Alexandre.
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the supplementation of xylanase in diets with reduced energy level on the apparent metabolizable energy corrected for nitrogen, determined with laying hens at 14, 36, 60 and 80 weeks of age. Four digestibility trials were conducted, using 80 Hy-line W36 laying hens aged 14, 36, 60 and 80 weeks of age. Birds were distributed in a completely randomized design in 2 × 2 factorial arrangement (energy level × inclusion of xylanase), totaling four treatments with 10 replicates of two birds each. Treatments were: positive control (balanced diet for their age); positive control + xylanase; negative control (diet with reduction of 100 kcal/kg in the level of metabolizable energy); and negative control +...

Performance and morphometry of the intestinal mucosa of laying hens fed diets containing xylanase Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Avic.
Souza,KMR de; Faria,DE de; Araújo,RB; Sakamoto,MI; Santos,TT dos; Kikuchi,C de G; Nakashima,DT; Caetano,VC.
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of dietary energy level reduction and xylanase inclusion on the performance and on intestinal mucosa morphometry of two- to six-week-old laying hens. In total, 400 Hy-line W36 laying hens were distributed according to a completely randomized design in 2 x 2 factorial arrangement (energy level x inclusion of xylanase), totaling four treatments with 10 replicates of 10 birds per experimental unit. The following treatments were evaluated: positive control (balanced diet); positive control + xylanase; negative control (diet with of 100 kcal ME reduction /kg); negative control + xylanase. Body weight, weight gain, feed conversion ratio, uniformity and livability were not influenced by diets with...
